FOR THE LOVE OF MOTHER EARTH, DON’T DIY IT!
Ah, the dreaded Do-It-Yourself disaster. I wish you folks knew how many times we’ve had to pronounce a boat DOA because of something you’ve done to it. Look at it this way, after you spend money for fabric, chemical, personal protective equipment, brushes, cloths, inspection materials, etc. (and thrown a temper tantrum, or two), chances are you’ve exceeded what we would’ve charged you to perform the repair CORRECTLY, THE FIRST TIME. Did you know adhesive has a shelf life of one year? Are you aware that 5200 and Gorilla Glue are NOT to be used on inflatables? Seriously, folks…save yourselves the aggravation; call us. Our repairs are performed in a climate-controlled environment, using quality fabrics and fresh adhesive. We don’t slap patches over seams and accessories; we don’t cross our fingers and hope for the best. We know what we’re doing, and we follow the hard and fast rules for how it should be done (with amazing results, I might add). Why chance having to take your dinghy to the dump? Oh, you watched a YouTube video on how to do this stuff? Yeah, well we’ve seen those too, during the course of a season when we were overrun with DIY disasters. We were curious as to how these people were instructing you, and we were astounded at the misinformation we found. Remember, there’s a reason repair shops exist!
